It is self-murder. Murder is the taking of an innocent life. Even with a guilty person, a committer of some heinous crime, the effort is necessary to give them the maximum opportunity to repent. All of this is predicated upon a culture and civilization that believes that this life is merely a prelude to another and that the character and actions of one's life is an important determinant for the state of the next. Because God gave us life. From the moment we were conceived we became an eternal being. The life we live depends on who we follow (or not follow). Lord Jesus was the only God Who died for mankind. Seeking Him and following Him gives eternal life with great benefits, starting at the time we believe and accept Him as our Savior. So when contemplates suicide they first need to seek God and ask Him for help. He is the only God Who knows our pain because He stepped down from His Throne to become like us, in the flesh. His suffering is to make us whole again in spirit, souls, and body. Man created religion when all God wants is a relationship with us like He had with Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I used to believe when I was a child ... I also believed in Santa Claus... but when I prayed for things to happen (like getting down and dirty with that hottie in grade 8!) and I was ignored ... I began to question. Hell - I even began to question Santa even though he delivered the goods every Dec 25 (mind you I never prayed to my parents to deliver a hottie... so there is that)
