Yes, and we can learn what happened with Trump. Many appointments made by the President have to get Senate approval, and from reading over at Conservativetreehouse, the guy operating the site "Sundance" explains that Mitch McConnell controlled that process (so it would be Schumer on the left). McConnell is a deep state swamp rat, so if Trump tried to appoint someone like Catherine Austin Fitts for Treasury, McConnell would simply say NO, I can't get them approved, but here's a list of people I can get approved (all swamp rats). So, as long as TPTB have all the key positions under control, there's really no way one person can get in there as President and change things. At this point, I think the federal govt is captured by the banking cartel and oligarchs (see Mike Whitney's The Plan to Wreck America at unz.com). I think our best hope is to work at the state and local levels.
