I may be misusing the term "healthy user bias", but the early spike in mortality in the elder non-vaxxed group might be explained by the fact that typically very frail older people --i.e. those most likely to die from even a violent sneeze -- are usually NOT vaxxed, with anything. And, of course, COVID or not, the death rate in this group always spikes in the winter.
