This is standard operating procedure of big pharma. They attack vitamin D regularly with studies designed to fail. The headline reads “Vitamin D has no effect on heart disease”, for example, only to find that the stooges who ran the study used a dose too low to have any effect.

You don’t even have to take anything other than water and some Tylenol to bring down crazy fevers and symptoms of covid. It’s really just the Fkn cold/flu.

Most sincere thanks for bringing this book and work 2013 NYRB article by ex NEJM editor, to attention. The New Yorker published an extensive exploration of the cute Big Pharma ‘research protocols’ at work around that same time???, which I can’t lay my hands on sadly, including information about unionised research subjects who went from drug trial to drug trial, and how Pharma self set up snd self regulating drug approval processes in full view and with full consent of the ‘overworked’ regulators!! Incredible then and inevitable now with horror outcomes playing out right now.

It is shocking, but given the corrupt practices now "unmasked," it shouldn't't be surprising. During 38 years of practice I have forgotten about more recalls and withdrawals than the average person has heard in their lifetime. Some of it was deadly, and some of it had the price jacked by a factor of 100 or more.

You know half the drug companies would increase their prices at the first of the month, and half at the middle of the month back in the 80s..

You know why? Because if they all did it at the same time it would have been a "RICO" violation!

Collusive oligopolies are a dirty business, and even raising like they did could still be construed as RICO, but the entire judicial system is captured too.

This isn't even mentioning the fact that it's a supposed "early treatment" but they don't allow you in the study unless you've shown symptoms for more than 7 days. At that point, the virus is mostly dead and the thing putting you in the hospital is sepsis and oxidative stress. Garbage study all around.

Expand full comment

i added the following: EDIT: Ivermectin is first and foremost an "early treatment"; this study only considered subjects that had shown symptoms for more than 7 days. At that point, the virus is mostly gone, with the individual experiencing the untreated viral damage. This kind of “research” was purposely done to malign Ivermectin, and as such the researchers, their universities and their BigPharma backers knowingly engaged in crimes against humanity.

thank you!

That's right. And I overlooked this vital fact. I will amend it now.,

I briefly reviewed the study and the procedure section described administering ivermectin after the patients were ill yet did not specify the duration of the illness. In addition, it was administered for a period of only four days. Four days! Nuff said.

Alex Berenson’s stack offered the study as conclusive proof that ivermectin failed to ameliorate covid symptoms. Any ideas on his slant? Limited hangout? But they usually choose cordial folks???

Berenson was a New York Times reporter, which is to say, he was one of the elect. He takes the NYT perspective on key issues: Trump legitimately lost the elections, blacks are the victims of white racism, Putin / Russia are evil, Zelenksy / Ukraine are good. He even went so far as to defend the US funding biolabs in the Ukraine, buying the Establishment lie that the US is cleaning them up (as Kevin McCairn, who has actually been in biolabs, points out, why do you need tens of millions of dollars for some autoclaves and concrete?)

I could probably say more were it not that I find Berenson to be so snarky that I barely read him anymore, even though I have a subscription (he never responded to my request for a refund).

Berenson has taken two heterodox positions -- marijuana is bad [probably influenced by his psychiatrist wife, who sees its impact all the time, as do I] and Covid is no big deal, that we are overreacting.

His initial Covid skepticism then extended, rationally, to the vaccines.

So, while at first glance Berenson looks like he is against the establishment, he has never actually rejected them. He thinks they are good and wise, but in Covid, misguided. He keeps expecting them to notice the evidence, so he thinks the end of Covid is always just around the corner. If you have the time and stomach, go back through his writings and see how often he has declared Covid / mandates / boosters to be over: he does so after each new irrefutable case of vaccine failure (of which there are quite a few now).

Berenson misses the crux: if the vaccines worked, they would be illegal.

He does not see that the pandemic is a plandemic. He does not see that it is being used to remake the world (even though Klaus Schwab and the WEF boast about this), to strip us of our rights, dignity, property, to make us slaves, and to cull vast numbers of us. Berenson sees that the vaxx increases Covid cases, has devastating side effects, and is now suppressing immunity. What he does not see is that these effects are the unstated raison d'etre of the vaxx, the reason it is being mandated.

We see Evil; Berenson sees ineptitude.

Now, what is the best evidence for the evil hypothesis over the ineptitude hypothesis? The suppression of early treatment. If the powers that be really wanted to end Covid, surely they would not be opposed to benign and possibly effective treatments.

So, where is the noble New York muckraker on governments suppressing the use of Vitamin D (yes, vitamin D), on forbidding physicians to use alternative treatments [e.g., NAC, lactoferrin, nebulized peroxide, fluvoxamine], and on the potential Rosetta Stone of treatment suppression: the Surgisphere / Lancet / Harvard fraud that got HCQ effectively banned? As far as I can tell, Missing In Action.

And while Berenson ignored all the above, he is gladly taking potshots at Ivermectin. He buys the establishment line that the government is prohibiting IVM not because they want to kill us, but because IVM is ineffective and they love us.

Although this is not directly on point, I would like to illustrate that Berenson is a fraud on freedom of speech. While he says he champions it, his championing seems largely confined to his trying to get back on Twitter. As Sage Hana says, he wants to get back to sitting at the Kool Kids table and own them.

Even though his wife is a physician, I am not aware of Berenson writing against doctors losing their licenses and board certifications for questioning the vaccines or promoting early treatment. If that is not suppression of free speech, I don't know what is.

I do not pretend to be an expert on Berenson's work (I have far more important things to do), so if I have said anything that is factually incorrect, I would like to be corrected.

You know there is an old saying, "Garbage in, garbage out."

But these guys take perfectly good data and get "garbage out."

Well, it 's not "garbage," but "propaganda."

And once they get the Headlines from a complicit media, the rest of the "Study" can go in the trash. Then "circular reasoning" can take place, they can pass "legislation" or "emergency" rules with the Headline which they themselves generated and implanted into the complicit media. This is what the FBI/CIA did with the "Russian Collusion."

Or Charlottesville. Or -insert blank here-.

Remember, early in the Italian Covid "outbreak" how they discovered through the generally good medical records the Italian's keep on their citizens, that the 30,000 hydroxyquinone patients being treated for Lupus, or RA (rheumatoid arthritis) showed only 20 positive cases with no hospitalizations and ZERO deaths.

Also early in the "outbreak" we had multiple deaths in nursing homes initially. And from the symptoms of the patients dying, we figured the emphysema and COPD and various other lung ailments/injuries/cancer patients would be toast. But almost none of these patients died. Most didn't even get particularly sick. Obviously, since this group has co-morbidities equivalent to or worse than the rest of the population in the facility, it should have been simple to determine why they were surviving. What did they take that generally the rest of the individuals didn't, well it is obvious isn't it, steroid inhalers!

They never really did come out and say it, did they?

On top of all you mention, the case death rate, both sides, was in the 3% range. That's way above anything we're seeing worldwide for this period unless I'm mistaken. Something was really wrong with how they treated these patients because this is worse than we would expect even with serious underlying conditions as all these people had. Even so, using Pharma's bullsh*t calculation of relative risk reduction instead of absolute, the ivermectin group had a 12.5% reduction in deaths over the placebo group. Reminds me of the Tuskegee Airman movie. "You invite us to a poker game. Hand us a fixed deck. And then wonder why we can't win." Designed to fail study. People still dying with the possibility, hopefully remote, that this virus will mutate into something more dangerous. And they call us crazy.
