First of all, they will write/ air anything that furthers their personal agenda. Even if it's stupid. Sometimes things are so badly written that the on air talent re-writes it or ad-libs in on air.
Secondly, the writers are young-- usually in their late 20's, while the producers are in their 30s. The former are lazy. If they get something from the wire that they like, they will use it without even trying to re-write it.
So some of it is about tribalism, the other is about laziness.
