It's not Airborne and it requires close contact to spread. It kills very quickly so that reduces the chance to spread.

GoF makes this aerosolized, thus airborne.

When it comes to GOF many examples of aerosolizing virures that normally have other modes of transmission come to mind.;

Yes virginia, there have been studies exploring the potential aerosol transmission of viruses that typically have other primary routes of transmission. These studies often aim to understand the potential risks associated with aerosol or respiratory droplet transmission, especially in specific environments such as healthcare settings. Here are a few examples:

Ebola Virus: While the primary mode of Ebola virus transmission is direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected individual or deceased body, there has been research into the potential for aerosol transmission. Some studies have suggested that the virus can be detected in aerosols, but the primary concern in real-world settings has been during specific medical procedures that might produce aerosols. However, airborne transmission of Ebola is not believed to be a significant route in natural outbreaks.

HIV: The primary routes of HIV transmission are sexual contact, blood transmission (e.g., via shared needles), and from mother to child (e.g., during childbirth or breastfeeding). There have been studies that detected HIV RNA in the air after certain laboratory procedures, but aerosol transmission is not a recognized route of HIV infection in real-world settings.

Zika Virus: While Zika is primarily transmitted through mosquito bites, there has been research into the potential for aerosol transmission, especially given the neurological symptoms associated with the virus. Some laboratory studies have aerosolized the virus to understand its stability and potential risks, but aerosol transmission is not a primary concern in Zika outbreaks.

The NIpah virus in its current form is without doubt is a product of GOF,
