I don't think it is nationalism as much as it is that secret sauce. They can't let that one identity that must not be spoken self-realize yet they need them to self-sacrifice for something. The problem is getting nationalism without waking up tribalism of the certain people who are totally not being replaced. Ethnonationalism is bad. It's a tough one. I think they have jumped the shark. But then again here in flyover proud dads still send their sons off to forever war and daughters to rape U for a worthless certificate and loads of debt so you may be right.
