Well, the original "they" - Pfizer and other manufacturers - actually didn't claim that the shots were efficacious re: transmission. It was the politicians who later made that claim in an effort to bully uptake. The OG manufacturers claimed efficacy re: hospitalizations and deaths. Now the data that JikkyLeaks sourced did hold for many age groups on hospitalization/death. It clearly doesn't hold for case counts. I suspect however that the treatment that a classified unvax person received in the hospital was poorer quality, and led to worse outcomes i.e. death. I also question that trick of hand many have alleged where the unvax category may have included those who had the shots, but more recently i.e. less than 1 week or 2 weeks or even within a month of a second shot, as apparently one wasn't considered at that time to be vaccinated until a period of days or weeks post 2 shots. The issue being that the shot could have been the thing that hospitalized you! You get counted as an unvax hospitalization, propping up the OG claim.
