Vitamin D in it's ultimate hormonal form controls about 3000 gene expressions. Dr. Grant, my friend truly believes in having sunlight as the main source of converting cholesterol to all the forms of the active hormone. When push comes to shove, supplementing is the only way of improving the blood value of Vitamin D quickly. D3 is superior to D2. There are 100's of studies to confirm this. There are also hundreds of negative articles and research papers supported and pushed by Big Pharma to discredit the true value of cholecalciferol since you can't expand the sale base for Rx drugs and patient visits if your patient is healthy. VA study proved this and the bureaucrats ignored their own study. Warfarin is rat poison, and is taken sub optimally by heart patients. and I take 5000 'iu's of D3 daily to maintain my blood value at the optimum value of 70 ng's .

NIH embraces NAM BS report that 20 ng's is normal for bone health and they don't recognize the true role of D. Why you quote the BS rat poison article is beyond my understanding.

WHO paid for the 100s of studies to prove D3 from a bottle so effective 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I don't know if they all specifically addressed that aspect. Paid for by various sources not controlled by Big Pharma.

Your view is totally embraced by Big Pharma. Recently did a six hour CE on Food as Medicine. CE was not approved for physicians. Suttle message was you don't need supplements. In 2009, Dept of Agra published a research paper listing the nutrient deficiencies of Americans because of the way crops are grown on nutrient deficient soil and ultra processed and etc. The deficiencies are extensive and account for the ill health of over 50% of the US population. Totally ignored by medicine. There is also a excellent research paper called "Lifestyle Medicine, A Brief review" 2017 that details and validates the Dept of Agra paper. Totally ignored. My article address some of this. https://thomasabraunrph.substack.com/p/big-pharma-wins

No.. they are in competition. There are excesses in the nutritional arena, but overall have a positive value. Big Pharma wants to control nutrient supplementation and reduce it's use to help grow their business. The half trillion dollar Rx drug business dwarfs the nutrient business. Big Pharma via WHO is pushing Codex Alimentarius to control and reduce the supplement business on a global basis. I can recite many personal stories where supplementation reversed ill health conditions.

Another RPh here chiming in to agree with Thomas---they are competition and yes there are predatory companies out there so you must use your body and lab work to judge how you are benefitting from any supplement. Use trusted sources. Ask a pharmacist who has experience in this area (we are not all equal in this aspect). Myself I take stuff that improves my labs --vit d level now normal, no longer pre-diabetic but diet didn't change drastically, one supplement got rid of my hip and shoulder pain and improved my mental health, one boosted my energy (hard to find) and whatever I am doing has drastically improved my inflammatory markers lab wise. I have literally spent years and thousands of dollars testing out various products on my own body and could tell you a thing or two about a thing or two. As an aside--my mom argues the SAME THING with me very much to my exasperation. I don't expect to change your mind but please think about it. There are some benefits to be had.
