I’m open to that. My impression, though, comes more from my contact with the many many many Chinese in my hometown, and their propensity for obedience to perceived authority, worship of status and money, and absolute lack of belief in anything higher. As well as the fact that many Chinese people I meet seem to have a grudge against “America,” despite a horrifically flawed understanding of the country.
Yes, Chinese culture is certainly different from ours; but I'm not sure that means we can dismiss Chinese scientific research out of hand as being wrong, flawed or bad. It's hard to see anything clearly these days, isn't it?
Is it possible that we have been lied to about China, like we have been lied to about everything else?
