When I got diagnosed with prostate cancer, the hospital and VA set me up for surgery. Sounded fine with me, as I thought they would nip the tumor and leave the rest. I figured out that the intent was the equivalent of remodeling a house by stripping it down to the studs, essentially a complete renovation. A couple of my classmates (USNA ‘75) had undergone that and other treatments, and introduced me to the Joe Tippens protocol. This was in early 2023. I was not ready to throw all caution to the wind, and found out about radiation as less intrusive, with a high success rate. But I also read what little I could find about Fenben and Joe Tippens. I wasn’t ready to trust everything to this new, alternative treatment, so after praying, I started on the protocol as published at the time, and a few months later ( long story), because biopsy had shown a relatively aggressive cancer, added the radiation, about a month, daily, through October 9, 2023. I seem to have had some liver disturbances, which I understand can be a side effect of fenben, so I stopped taking it in January of 2024. In October, 2024, bloodwork showed that liver is back to normal, and PSA is 1.06. I am glad I did both treatments, especially since the VA paid for the radiation, and the Protocol didn’t cost all that much. More is now known and studied about the Protocol already, and I’m not sure how necessary the radiation was.
