glad someone else is figuring out the junk food connection to depression, the gut acts like a primary brain and talks to your upper brain constantly. (japan became somewhat westernised with their diet at around the time that they started getting mood problems, shocker) situational depression is always ignored by doctors who prescribe junk that actually makes depression worse in nearly all, it even says on the insert, may cause suicidal thoughts or tendencies

I was prescribed Zoloft in 2004 from a doctor that said I had anxiety and it immediately made me feel like a complete brain dead zombie. I got off it without talking to the dr and never went back to her again. I later learned my Dad had a similar experience. Meanwhile I know people that have been on these drugs for years, including my brother, and their behavior is completely off the wall. They have emotional issues, tend to be completely irrational and they can’t get along with others.

They’ve lied about causation in many illnesses to promote unsafe drugs you have to take for the remainder of your life. And the recommendations to take the drugs, like statins, have been changing to earlier ages. But many people don’t want to take responsibility for anything in their life and popping pills vs changing your lifestyle is going to keep this fraud going strong. And sadly all this pharma crap is washing back into our drinking water, food, etc so it is hard to avoid it all.

In my personal experience, genuine depression is real but rare. The fashionable anti depressants are a disaster. Especially for young people who need to be adapting to adulthood instead of drugging into it.

Diet, gut health, and detox herbs are key in this environment.

Btw the only thing that ever brought me to a non-drugged normal feeling was an MAOI developed by a lone MD in Hungary 60 years ago, a drug that had the fda saying that they will never again allow a drug be submitted for approval by anyone other than big pharma. Deprenyl. Doesn’t blunt emotions, fends off cognitive decline. I’m surprised they haven’t taken it off the market.

Years ago I lost a lot of weight quite quickly. It frightened me so badly I was pretty frantic going into the doc's office. I teared up a couple of times while explaining my problem. Rightly so, I was worried about my health. Before I was finished, doc was scribbling on a pad. Even before getting the forms ready for me to take and get blood work and tests done, I was handed a scrip for Effexor. 😳

Like, realllllllly?!

I'm not depressed! I'm terrified I have cancer or something.

Never filled the scrip, never went to that doc again.

I fell for the antidepressants for about 20 years. Probiotics and non gmo food & gluten free (glyphosate free ?) food helps more than any medication.

Hello! Thank you for your comment; one of my friends is a big fan of your sub stack.

I have heard of a lot of examples of disease branding, but I think inventing a word for depression takes the cake. Thank you for sharing that one; I will probably use it in the future.

A lot of evidence that has emerged over the years indicating the serotonin for depression was something a marketing firm cooked up.

My own belief is that the primary cause of depression is fluid stagnation within the body (which I recognize is vague because there are so many different types of fluid stagnation that could occur) but I find when this is addressed resolves depression. One researcher, William Walsh, an excellent case that there are five different biochemical abnormalities that cause depression, and if you can identify which one it is and provide the appropriate treatment for it (such as a supplementation) it resolves depression. There is a lot of evidence for his model and it has always astounded at the psychiatric field has not picked it up, considering that many psychiatrists only job is to treat depression and anxiety.

It has been very sad for me see how the general consciousness of my generation and I was born after transformed by SSRIs, as part of a pipeline of neurologically damaging drugs that gradually require more and more neurologically toxic medication's. The classic sales funnel Is birth control pills being given out like candy which causes depression which requires an SSRI which the causes bipolar I, which then requires an antipsychotic to be given which in turn causes even more significant cognitive damage. I have also noticed that the HPV vaccine feeds into this sales funnel because of the neurological damage and psychiatric changes it causes to teenage women on birth control who are on the cusp of needing SSRIs or women on SSRIs who are on the cusp of needing antipsychotics.

I also suspect these changes were deliberate because that change in the consciousness of the masses is necessary for the transhumanists future.

I have seen up close and personal the personality numbing more at dissociation-inducing affects of SSRI's and it is heartbreaking.

Self-care and self-parenting and self-love are missing in large swaths of society; taking responsibility for your emotional world requires, at times, active work, especially if one is not fulfilled in their work and social life, which is all too common these days. It's a massive topic and I won't bore you....

Maybe this gibes with fluid stagnation, but in my case I avoid "depression" by lifting heavy weights throughout the week. With each workout I exert myself to the point of some pain, and i am sore pretty much the entire week. Also, the food and mood connection is vital, and mostly overlooked. There is a good book on this. I mean, if you eat processed food which is mostly carbs and sugars your biochem and associated hormones are "depressed" while, say, cortisol spikes and you essentially induce a pre-diabetic state for net even more "depression", etc. etc.

The other technique I've added comes from Dr. Jerry Marzinksky. This is a good overview of this approach -- yes it may sound a little woo woo and not consensus psychiatry/"science", but given Jerry's broad and deep experience I kept an open mind:

Let me know if you have any thoughts on that reply! I don't go into this area on my SS because it's too out there for most people.

Not out there to me at all. Makes perfect sense. It is no easy feat to find the words to accurately describe the art of diagnosing and treating the spirit. And while it does sound out there, the doctor i referenced worked in prisons and hospitals for many decades.

The interview I shared is worth a watch.

Writing a reply to this, is quite challenging because this response needs to be an article to say what I wanna say properly so a lot of this will be very abridged and miss linking context.

First off, one of the things I find fascinating in my medical practice is how the conscious mind, the subconscious mind and the unconscious mind interact with each other. Similarly, I feel the same way about the interactions between the body mind and spirit. There are so many permutations of this that can occur, it is a mind-bogglingly complex puzzle that I believe can only be navigated if you have the ability to have direct perception of what is occurring (which I can somewhat do and a few of my teachers can do very well).

Second, there are a variety of things that can pattern negative things into the unconscious and subconscious mind. I am of the belief that sometimes malignant non-corporeal entities can cause that to happen (and part of my training has been how to address that very difficult issue), but it is much more common than either a traumatic experience becomes patterned into the mind, the energy from an individual become stuck in your system (so a human rather than an entity "possessed" you) or some sort of traumatic force stores within either the physical tissue of your body or the energetics channels that are present within the body. Colloquially, all of these experiences are referred to as "ghosts" by certain esoteric systems, although the actual meaning of ghost varies slightly depending on the context (i.e. ghost of the past). I am familiar with the gnostic perspective of the archons (a few people like David Icke have made a big deal about them) but my own perspective is that that school of thought represents an distorted interpretation of what is actually occurring (which is extremely common in the spiritual field).

I have seen a lot of different approaches put forward for treating these issues. In general it is somewhat of an art form that requires a sensitive individual who can perceive where the problem is lodged within the individual's system.

One of the better approaches but by not means not the only one I've come across for treating all this emotional stuff (I know a good practicioner I periodically refer patients to and I sometimes use it in clinic) is called the emotion code (or the body code)...although its results greatly vary depending on the skill of the practicioner. To some extent it is a form of unconscious hypnosis.

I had not come across the method described there before, but it has quite a few parallels to the emotion code methods story. I can think of one person I know who has had unresolveable psychiatric issues that I think this method would be the solution for, so I am going to keep this in mind for when it seems applicable.

PS technically the word "utsu" was not invented by BigPharma, it was just unknown to most and never invoked.

The doc and even its trailer have literally been scrubbed from the net.

I have suffered with severe and chronic depression for 35 years … my experience with depression is not event related at all. I took SSRIs for many years and experienced relief. It was extremely difficult to get off of those drugs. While the seratonin hypothesis may be wrong, there is something happening in my brain that decreases my functionality. While it may be a misnamed disease attributed to false causes and treated in a way that enriches big pharmas, it is overreaching to write off depression as a real thing that plagues many people

Just a suggestion, we should be writing Big pHARMa; Far more appropriate.

Dr. Peter Breggin, the most ethical psychiatrist for years telling of these dangers. The biggest problem with these potent antidepressants is that they are so hard to withdraw from after years of use. This is a deadly path to go down, and so many were put on this path in the 1990s, still trying to get off them.

Personally I feel ALL drugs should be legal, fraud should be punished with a vengeance, and strictly voluntary suicide is a right which is hard to take away even when people try to.

I will keep taking my sertraline. It seems to have a significant effect on me personally. I went to a bad psychiatrist who gave me 25 expensive drugs that didn’t work. Then I went to a good general practitioner who prescribed a generic that worked. Go figure.

All drugs should be legalized, and anyone selling poison gets prosecuted.

All street drugs legalized too.

Free markets and a minuscule government enforcing Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Amen. One clarification: there is a saying pharmacology that “the dose makes the poison” - vitamin C can be fatal in sufficient concentrations. So the issue of “selling poison” is not one of biochemistry, but rather of labelling, fraud, and consent. Those labelling the Deathvax as “safe and effective” are thus guilty of fraud and homicide.

Consider the need for antidepressants. First the vaccines damage the brain and create a whole host of issues including anxiety, depression and the general inability to understand what is happening in body and mind. True to form, Big Pharma creates the problem and is first on the scene with a solution. In this case, antidepressants. They work for a short time then fail.. Sound familiar? This sets the stage for another round of vaccines followed by more anti-depressants.

Aiding and abetting Big Pharma is the media to whom they pay large amounts of money. Media pushes movies, TV, magazines and news about lifestyles of the rich and famous. Yachts, private jets, resorts full of beautiful people. You realize this isn't you they're talking about and no matter how hard you work it will never be you. Yet it's put in front of your eyes on billboards, the sides of buses, at subway stops. Then you see another miracle drug being advertised that is new, better and practically guarantees that you'll feel better once you take it. Off to the doctor you go and it begins again.

The world is being shaped, distorted and poisoned by snake oil merchants who have graduated to global genocidal maniacs.
