Such idiocy. In my area the only sane place was my local mall - they "encouraged" masking but didn't require it. (Of course the individual stores still did.) But it was hilarious at the height of the pandemic to walk through an empty mall all by myself on a Saturday afternoon. People were *that* scared, I guess. They all just stayed home. No laws needed.
