The first article mentions that 0.5-1/100,000 under 35 athletes had cardiac arrests. Also says 2.6 events per 100,000 athlete-years (whatever that is). Would be interesting to see the data for the past 2 years.
I'm certainly not suggesting there is nothing to see here, it's just that I'm an ornery SOB who likes to play devil's advocate and stir shit up :)
As a mother of 4 children who all played sports and knows thousands of other children, I can tell you that NONE of those kids EVER had to have screenings. The sports physicals consisted of filling out a general health form w personal health info, having BP, pulse and respiratory rate taken and noted at the visit and the physician signing it. Period.
I'm really not doubting there is something going on. To me it would be surprising if there WASN'T, given the myocarditis and other issues. To your point, were any of them in college sports? I kind of got the impression from the articles above that they were mostly meant for college athletes. Also I didn't look at the original tweet that is the subject of this, if that doc was screening college or high school kids. Certainly I don't remember when I was in school anything like that.
Makes you wonder if these recommendations from years ago were done for an agenda, and if so, how freaking long has this been planned?!?!?
From the time a child enters kindergarten, all the way through, every child is required to have a sports physical done for every single year, they need a new one signed off on, whether or not they’re involved in sports in or out of school, which the physicians don’t ask about anyway.
As regards the info on the internet, it’s nothing for them today to plant something that’s been post dated. Remember who owns the internet sites and who their friends are.
For out of school sports, like rec leagues and even competitive cheer, none of my children were ever required to provide a sports physical - possibly bcz the rec league administrators knew that to be in school, the children had to have sports physicals.
We’re going to end up having robots doing the sports soon
They've been doing these screenings for years.....

Ha! There is plenty of data.
