He came through it, I'm glad, but not unharmed. You touched on the flaw in his argument(s) "And every single time he would debunk the associated fearmongering du jour by referring to the various technological innovations which always negated the Malthusian doomsday theses." Not necessarily technological, it can be any kind of fearmongering (political, skewed scientific, etc.) to gain power this is one of the easiest ways. Remember the hoax of CV-19? It was really just the flu mixed with SARS2. None of those mandates were necessary.
