Leaders emerge naturally in communities, but the notion of following anyone, will likely be undermined along with the notion of experts and we move forward. Better to, imo, address individual agency and sovereignty within local communities. Remind others of who they are, what they gave a way, and that the road back is not impossible. What can we do, practical steps, like a garden, like a local trading post, to thrive in the midst of societal collapse?
Grounded, nature inclusive, humanity-values will need to be front and center. At least for me.
I love your substack, you are a nice person. But in a collapse scenario people will kill and eat each other. They have in the past and will again. Those local leaders you are referring to are MS13 and warlords when the prisons empty out. Sex, drugs, booze, firearms, ammo and medicine will be what people are interested in. Better to be among the survivors.
I think you are exactly right. A few years ago, I came across Selco, he survived the Balkan war in the '90s. His account of how it went down, total and rapid collapse, and how he survived, is truly chilling. He teaches survival. I think I'll revisit his work.
Yup. I have a neighbour from Serbia. He knew what this was straight away. We're tight. People will be trading their children and wives for food if they are lucky. I'm staying the fuck out of the way.
Thanks. I hear you and I don't expect any of this to go smoothly. Though if we have community ties where people are finding solutions, for food, and getting shit done and taking care of each other, they will also protect each other. As CAF has said, the next few years will be largely about surviving, and staying out of the chaos. I don't know what it's all going to look like and you may be right - surely cities will be scary places - but we do have some time (less and less by the day) to pull things together and become resilient. If people see a way forward, steps they can take for themselves and families they are less like to turn into angry mobs.
For some reason running through my head right now is the scene from Independence Day when the people are on the top of the building 'greeting' the aliens and they open up and blast everyone.
"no ( little ) time for sex, drugs and booze when you are trying to stay alive."
Your priorities are not the priorities of a gang member just released from prison who will be the people running the streets. Also, sex, drugs and booze will be THE bartering item. You will not be living in a utopia.
Leadership is underappreciated. Nothing happens without leadership. I propose that Edward Dowd could be a guy that pulls all this together. He is spiritually motivated, extremely bright, and full of common sense. He is realistic and he stays away from conspiracies that are unprovable. An existing 501 (c) 3 could install him as ED and take it from there. This would also be a time to install James O'Keefe as chief muckraker. He needs a job. Naomi Wolfe would should also be on the leadership team. Scott Adams is available too. OF the Substack Army I find Igor Chodrov to be the most credible. Jennifer Brown is also doing amazing work about medical iatrogenesis.
I'm suggesting there will be a period of time where many will be turned off by leadership. Especially for those who followed leaders off the proverbial cliff. I agree, credible people are out there and some may in fact be natural leaders. Still one of the great lessons we are learning right now, is the absolute need for individual responsibility and sovereignty. If we don't learn that lesson right now, post the Covid psyop, then we never will. There is no one better equip to make decisions about my health than me. There is no one who can extend to me my rights. We each have the exact amount of rights we claim at an individual level. Some things can not be delegated. I'm happy to listen to the people you just mentioned, respect and appreciate them, but I don't want any of them to be in a position to make a decision on my behalf. (And while Igor is a sincere and credible person, imo, he's been unable to take the necessary leap to see what we are actually dealing with - intentional harm.)

Anyone who survived a warzone or gulag was also a killer. They just don't talk about it with you.

Not going to happen when people are starving. Yours is the stuff of fantasies.

Bravo. I will walk with you.
Thanks. I'll check it out.
I will, too...
