They are basically forbidden to sell their naturally-produced stuff, which places them back to the Middle Ages without access to modern tools that they cannot buy without money. In comparison, in the EU, farmers cannot sell cheese without putting carcinogenic preservatives in their product.

1. not "vaccinating" their children in their schools
2. producing food without the poisons/permits the FDA expects them to use
My first thought was that the Amish people are one large "control group" who have not been vaccinated nor had any modern medicines (I presume).
I think I remember reading something about the FDA thing but that is another thing that Amish people haven't had crappy mass-produced modern food.
