"They" believe that they will control God His Self; and as Jesus said His Self, they will attempt to hold back His return. If they can't do that; and of course; they can't, then they will at LEAST attempt to trick everyone into believing He is coming when He isn't, so that when He doesn't, they will tell us, "See, it's all fake, God's Word isn't true." Liars; all of 'them'.
