After spending many years living in third world countries, I’ve seen how quickly “civilization” can degrade. We’ve already seen video after video of looting, stealing and destruction happening daily in blue cities in this country. Lawlessness is already here and it will escalate a thousand fold when the Deep State needs another catastrophic event to usher in the next step in their plan. Anyone not paying attention is going to be woefully unprepared at the least, and (there’s no nice way to say this) may not survive. The Deep State will stop at nothing to keep Trump or any populist out of office and that includes fabricating an event to justify martial law to cancel elections. Pray I’m wrong, but prepare for the worst. It’s called “insurance”.
Some years ago, our freezer, which was loaded with meat, experienced a summer storm electricity outage. For too long. My husband (I was not in country at that time) had to throw out a lot of $$$ food. Last autumn (2022), attuned to what-might-be-nonsense-but-I-cannot-predict-so-I'll-prepare thoughts, I canned about 100 lb of beef, chicken, pork. Home canned foods do not require tools to open (I can lift the Ball lid with fingernails, usually). It is true that any cooking will send cooking-smells outside of the house, so in a bad situation that would need to be considered.

I read that post. It was excellent! Anyone reading this needs to check TriTorch’s post out as well as the substack.
Thanks for sharing the Crisco thing. That is really awesome. Going to buy some and try it.
