Here is a very good account of the real backstory. I was there in medical school in 1972 when one of my professors warned us about this in such a way that it literally sent shivers through the room. I did not hear another word about this for over 50 years and never thought twice about it until 2020 and now listening to what this neurosurgeon lays out.

I do not know him personally but I have been following articles he has published in the medical literature as well as editorial comments. Alfred Blaylock (Cardiothoracic Surgeon) and Helen Taussig (Pediatrician) were colleagues of my mother Louise Snyder (Pediatrician) at Johns Hopkins Medical School and influenced my early surgical career, but I do not know if they are directly related. What I do know is that there is a lot more to this story that is likely catastrophic far beyond just human lives. But ignoring the existential nightmare for now, the following published in the medical literature by Dr Russell Blaylocck are very concise statements.
