I cannot think of one single person that I've spoken with directly in person, that claims to be faithful to Christ, that is willing to render ALL of that ill-gotten gain in exchange for their liberty in this world.

Good stuff. One way or another the Catholic Church is a part of it. That is not to say that Catholics are themselves in league with evil, simply misguided. I grew up Catholic as well but became a born again Christian much later in life and began to study the bible in earnest....including a very deep study of ESchatology, prophecy of the book of revelation and Daniel, Matthew 24 and Luke21...etc. Study some very pertinent history and biography and other things to put the whole thing together as much as possible. I can be that way as well, depends upon the circumstances and forum and whether or not I care about being tactful. At the end of the day I fully realize that it's far too late, our lot is cast, there is massive pain, death, destruction, weeping and wailing that lies ahead, and it's all by design.
My faith is in Christ as Rev. 20:7-9 unfolds, and while I fully expect death, as I did during lockdowns, and will opt for death over anything in this evil world including wealth or creature comforts when the time comes (aka I can't be bought or blackmailed) and simply hope that it's quick or otherwise relative painless, although I'm not counting on that either.
I just pray that I have the strength(from God) to confront my fear when they come for me. And, that I will face my earthly death with defiance and without compromise.
