Look at pop and rock in the 60's with thousands of bands, writers and producers churning out classic hits. Them came the 70's with fewer bands, writers and producers and fewer memorable hits. The same through the 80's, 90's and 00''s with each following decade producing fewer and fewer classics than the one before. And yet the number of families running things in politics remains the same. That isn't how things will continue to work. It will soon be time for one of these gangs to make its move on all the others as the number of control levers required is shrinking. That is the problem for them. A complex world that they don't understand and have little control over is one helluva lot safer for them than a simplified world heavily controlled by them that they actually still don't understand. In the complex case if something goes wrong they could always blame God but in the world where they play gods they only have one another to blame. Did the Greek tragedies with their perfidious gods, that actually came from far earlier times long before Greece even existed, teach them nothing?
