Ugg. I have seen a case of what appeared to be Munchausen's by Proxy in a friend's relative. The mom wanted a boy, and gee, she might just get her wish yet. Meanwhile, she's been all around the news circuit, so even if the kid wanted an "out" it will be awkward.
The school indoctrination is a whole other kettle of fish. I say this as an educator who has not been in the elementary system in any substantial way since 2017. It has changed since then, although the sex-ed curriculum already required some of this, but just not quite to this extent.
True story: I was a Tom-boy. I caught frogs, climbed trees, and adored my black rubber boots with the orange ring. No white rain boots for me. Had this been a thing, heaven knows what could have happened to me. As it was, I discovered boys on cue. My childhood of traipsing through the woods came to an abrupt halt.
I am now as girly as they come and "I don't like spiders and snakes."
How horrible that children are being damaged like they are or will be.
