Finally I conceded because she couldn’t go to the groomers without it. Three weeks later she was bleeding out of her mouth — ITP, thrombocytopenia. For 16 months I gave her immune suppressants (had to use gloves to touch them) and steroids. It was pretty awful and very expensive (ongoing bloodwork), but we did get her immune response suppressed long enough to clear the vaccine. I KNEW better, and it was so weird that was happening in the outer world too, but I let the very longstanding narrative win.
