I was lucky at a design school in 2002 to have a “history” class with a UC Berkeley professor who was teaching between two schools. It started with modern history of the west, the enlightenment, religious and secular divisions, differing philosophical views, leading up to the modern rise in exceptionalism and atheistic technocratic thinking (reductive materialism) which has all facilitated the desire for humans to play God via genetic manipulation. The class was designed to instill awareness and caution about where we were headed. By far the most important class I’ve ever had as a product designer.

Where we are as a society isn’t an accident. It’s also no accident they make “playing God” seem necessary, harmless and logical. But we all know, EVERY tool can become a weapon when in the hands of intelligent yet morally deprived selfish psychopathic humans. And here we are... exactly where he predicted. I wish I remembered the name of the one teacher who made the most difference in my life.

And, devotion to this ‘science’ may link to high belief in the jab solution narrative.

But at the start, resistance from our own Maori people was recognised as a potential problem for this exciting technology by our ‘sensitive’ culturally deferent scientists..Seems like they’ve put money into solve this potential point of ‘resistance’ ..clearly research and money has been targeted 🎯 to modify Maori values that might limit potentially limit investment in this ‘science’ …
